Overview
Inkwell Artist needed more than a portfolio. The brief was a single home for everything the artist makes: handmade runestone jewelry, commissioned fantasy artwork, and an ongoing series of original comics — with a way for fans to actually buy them.
We designed a storefront with the warmth and myth of the work itself, then engineered it to run like a real business: a product catalogue, a working cart, customer accounts, a personal library for purchased comics, and a clear path for commissioning custom pieces.

How it’s built
Built on Astro
Pages are pre-rendered at build time and ship almost no JavaScript, so the catalogue loads fast on any device — interactivity is added only where it’s needed, like the cart.
Secure checkout & accounts
Payments run through Stripe’s secure checkout, so card details never touch the site’s own servers. Customer accounts are protected with two-factor authentication, and buyers get a personal library to return to the digital comics they’ve purchased.
Commissions built in
Custom artwork has its own ordering path with clear pricing tiers, turning enquiries into structured, ready-to-quote requests.
Global delivery & SEO
The site is served from a global edge network with automatic, zero-downtime deploys. Optimised images, clean semantic markup and per-page metadata help every product and comic get found in search.
